It is an epiphyte, which means it should be attached to hardscape rather than buried in the substrate.

Under high lighting, it can display striking reds. In my own tanks, I find it shows a beautiful red underneath the leaf while maintaining a lovely green colour on top. The leaf shape is also very unique-it doesn't look like most other aquarium plants.

This plant sends out runners and produces new growth, taking over your hardscape quite quickly. I really enjoy this because it creates a very natural look. It is also incredibly easy to propagate; I often take trimmings from my Hygrophila to use in other scapes. This allows me to use my own trimmings instead of constantly buying new plants.

Like all my other plants, it flourishes when using liquid fertiliser. My personal favourite is Tropica Specialised Nutrition.

For liquid fertilizer I use tropica premium nutrition, I like to dose more than suggested on the bottle,I dose 2ml per 50l of water you have in your aquarium,I find it works really well and have had great results,I choose premium nutrition over specialised nutrition because specialised nutrition has
